Card Story: Today's Lesson
Card Episode: Swordsmanship and the Eastern Wizards
Event: Concerto of the Knight and Loyalty ~Central Country & Eastern Country~
CHAPTER 1
[Location: Courtyard, morning]
Faust: Shino, what are you doing here?
Shino: Oh, Faust. I'm making a wooden sword for practice.
Faust: Sword practice? Why?
Shino: I was training with Cain earlier, and I realized it’s really difficult to wield my scythe in small spaces.
Shino: But a sword doesn't cause issues like that. I thought maybe it's not a bad idea to learn how to use it.
Faust: I see... But that sword you're making is a little too big for you, don't you think?
Shino: Cain would have used a sword as big as this.
Faust: What you need is a smaller weapon.
Faust: I think you'll be able to take better advantage of your nimbleness by using a dagger instead of a sword.
Shino: I see… A dagger, huh.
Faust: Well, I'm not an expert. It's just a personal opinion.
Shino: No, you have a point. Wanna help cutting and re-shaping this thing?
Faust: ...Alright. Hand it over.
Shino: Hey, what are y...
Faust: « Satillquinart Mulcreed »
CHAPTER 2
[Location: Courtyard, morning]
Faust: « Satillquinart Mulcreed »
Shino: It turned into a dagger...
Faust: Here, how about this?
Shino: ............
Faust: What. If you don't like it, then you can re-shape it yourself......
Shino: This is amazing, Faust. It fits in my hand perfectly. And it looks so cool...!
Faust: ...Really?
Shino: Yeah. I'm gonna show this to Heath and Nero. We should do sword fighting for this afternoon’s class, Faust.
Faust: Huh?
Shino: Even Oz is learning how to handle one. Us Eastern wizards can’t just let ourselves lag behind them.
Shino: Let's show the Central wizards we can be good at this too. Plus, Heath would look really cool with a sword.
Faust: Is that last sentence your intention all along...
Faust: But I told you already. I'm not knowledgeable about it. If you really want to learn how to use a sword, then ask Cain instead.
Shino: But why. You're my teacher, not him.
Faust: Every person has their own strengths and weaknesses.
Shino: And I'm sure you'll be able to teach it well. Now that's decided, I'll go tell Heath and Nero that we’ll practice sword fighting this afternoon.
Shino: I have to go prepare their weapons. Faust, I need you to tell me how to make daggers with magic later, like what you did just now.
(running footsteps)
Faust: Hey, wai...
Faust: ............
Faust: Forget sword fighting, I think learning how to listen to people is what I need to teach him first…
CARD EPISODE
Swordsmanship and the Eastern Wizards
[Location: Courtyard, morning]
Akira: Hello, Shino. I heard that the Eastern wizards were having a sword fighting class earlier.
Shino: Yeah. Faust was teaching us.
Akira: Wow…! So, how was it?
Shino: It felt new. We don't often use something like that as our weapon, after all.
Shino: Even so, Faust and Nero looked really cool with their daggers. But Heath was the coolest, of course.
Akira: I see! I wish I was able to watch you guys...
Akira: What did you do in your class, anyway?
Shino: We first learned the basic stances, then we had a simple sparring. It was a little tricky at first, but we all soon got the hang of it.
Shino: It's good practice to train with a weapon that's different from the one I usually use. The stances, movements and attacks are all unlike when I use my scythe.
Akira: It seems like it's something that requires both big and small movements. You're good at both, I think.
Shino: Yeah. When I improve, I'll challenge Cain to a match, and I also want to do a joint training with all the Central wizards.
Shino: When we do it, you should come watch us. I'll show you how cool I am.
Akira: Thank you so much. I can’t wait!
HOME SCREEN LINE
Shino: Did you know? Cain is a friendly guy, but he never lets his guard down when he's talking to strangers. I'm the same, so I get why he's like that.
